My name is Chelsey, I am a 25 year old motocross racer from Ontario, Canada.
I grew up a tomboy and have always been heavily involved with motorsports. I started getting into dirtbikes in 2012 and began racing motocross in 2016. Motocross isn't a sport you see widely broadcasted (it's not even listed on this website) and much like every other sport, its demanding, both mentally and physically, it's exhilarating, amazing and expensive.
Everyone has that one thing that no matter what, brings a smile to their face, and allows them to shut the world off around them. For me, that thing, is motocross. I love it! Motocross has helped me in more ways than I can explain. I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder and when I am on my bike, is when I am truly grounded and free. I am at peace with myself and the world when I am on my bike. No medication, treatment, or amount of healthy diets can reproduce the positive influence motocross has on me.
I began racing in the Ladies B (beginner class) and after 3 races, and leading the points, I was moved up to Ladies A (Ladies Pro or Ladies Advanced). I have excelled greatly within the sport however with recently graduating from Laurentian University with my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and...trying to save for Graduate School, it is becomming harder and harder to attend races due to costs.
Anyone involved in sports knows that they get expensive really quick, with entry fees, gate fees, transponders, fuel, food, hotel, and any maitenance and additional unforseen costs and motocross is probably one of the more expensive sports out there.
I have never been one to take support from others, as I am solely self funded with no 100% sponsorships but my dream is to race the full Canadian Womens National East series and the Grand National Amateur Week in Quebec in 2017 . So that's why I am here...Looking for help to support my dream of racing those events in 2017.
These events begin June of 2017 so I have lots of time to fundraise and save for these events.

I thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read my short little story. I will also be adding a limited edition run of a "Womens Motocross T-Shirt" for those who have supported me in this campaign and will upload as soon as I have a proof of the shirt.
