"Do you still do archery? Didn´t you want to get to the Olympics?"
"I still do."
"But honey, you have kids now!"
"Well, now you will never be able to do it."
I hear these words more and more often after I gave birth to my second son in July, 2017. I cannot help but wonder - is this what life is all about? I chose to start a family, but I have never given up on my dreams. I know I can have both.
I am an archer. I am a four time national champion. I am a determined athlete and I am a mother of two. I am also going to become an Olympian.
Yes, I have gained a bit of an extra weight and I am not as fit as I used to be. I know it is going to be a hard work, but I also know that I can do it.
I started shooting at the age of 16 and within a year I competed at the Junior World Championships.
I have collected several national championships and competed at various international tournaments.
My biggest successes are 9th place at the World Indoor Archery Championship in France in 2014 and being selected for the European Games in Baku in 2015.
Since then I have been training less due to starting a family, but now I am fully back in training and ready to fulful my dream.
To reach my goal of becoming an Olympian I need your support. Archery equipment can be very costly. The demands of family life and the fact that archery is still a very small sport in the Czech Republic leaves me with no financial support to back my training.
I need a total of $18 000 which will cover the costs of new equipment, competition fees, travel and training costs.
Become a part of my team and help me pick up where I left off. Together we can prove the skeptics wrong and show them that a determined, passionate and hardworking athlete like me can achieve both their dreams – to have an amazing family as well as to participate in the biggest games on Earth.
